Large Turkish Odemis Pot V2

Handcrafted in the Odemis region of Turkiye by skilled artisans this vintage Terracotta pot offers us a glimpse into the country’s rich history and a reminder of daily life in a bygone era.

Traditionally used for storing olive oil or grain, pots like this were once an esteemed possession and often used as dowry until they were discarded and replaced by plastic and glass containers in modern times. Now a highly sought after showpiece for stylish interiors and gardens.

This pot has weathered for over 75 years and is truly one-of-a-kind. It tells its own story from its markings, minor repairs, texture, colour, and patina. Now we can add another chapter with its journey to Australia.
